What took me so long?

Normally I shun fads and tend to like the things many others do not. I like to think I’m ahead of the curve. For example, more than a year ago I went to a bookstore because I had heard about this little novel called “The Hunger Games.” I searched all of fiction and literature and did not see it. As I was leaving I noticed it classified in the Teen Fiction section right next to “The Twilight Saga.” I slowly backed away and hoped that no one saw me. Now “THG” is more popular than THC.

But I have fallen victim to HBO’s epic Game of Thrones. I just tore through the entire first season in one day and I have to admit that I am riveted. What I have learned so far is that everyone is a sex addict who wants to be king and the only way to kill someone in that era is to cut off their head. Seriously, even horses get their heads lopped off. Watch it by order of the King.

Droid (he)X

I love my phone. Not that I would marry it or anything, I just think it is a fascinating piece of technology. What is my phone you ask, well it is the DROID X. My favorite phone I’ve ever had. Now all that is well, but I have had to replace my phone six times! The thing keeps breaking. As of right now I do not have a ‘menu’ or ‘home’ button on my phone, and it is so frustrating. It’s an amazing phone, but poorly made.

Odd sightings

Have you ever been a passenger in a car and noticed the randomest things? Well, on the way to school this morning I saw a lot of weird things.

Throughout Spencer, there were about 3 or 4 lights that were broken. I suppose that it was because of last night’s storms. Also, I saw a bag of sand on the floor which looked like a giant dead cat. Then I noticed the man who is always walking his giant husky by the CVS. The dog was running this time and the owner looked very uncomfortable running. I also saw a girl and a guy share a doobie. Then I looked inside a washateria and some man was doing jumping jacks on top of the washing machines.

So next time you’re a passenger in a car, look out your window. You’ll be in for quite a treat.

The iPhone!!!

After many months of having my iPhone 3gs, I bought a shiny new iPhone 4s 16GB in white. Originally I had an iPhone 3gs and didn’t find it necessary to upgrade; however, as an AT&T employee at a retail store, all I do is sell iPhone 4s’s on a daily basis. After months of selling the phone, and not only that, but activating it, playing with it to show the customer all the cool features it can do, I finally couldn’t take it anymore. One day randomly at work I decided to buy one, and now I’m happy with it.

One thing I am tired of though is the constant question of when the iPhone 5 is coming out. Ever since March 2011, that’s the question I get on a regular basis, “So when’s the 5 coming out?” “When will they announce the arrival of the iPhone 5?” “I know that you know it so you can tell me!”

When I get questions like that, I just want to say, “NO I don’t know and even if I did know I wouldn’t tell you because you’re annoying the heck out of me by talking.” (I would tell them if I knew of course but everyone would know the actual date by then) They act as if I’m working for Apple and was one of the main corporate people who have all that information.

Anyway, all in all I’m fully satisfied with my iPhone, and hope the iPhone 5 comes out soon so that way I don’t get asked so many questions… Even though I’m sure the day after the arrival of the 5 customers will then ask me, “So when is the iPhone 6 coming out?”

AHHHHH!!!! Oh well.

To Eat or Not to Eat

When working at a family restaurant you find yourself asking questions you might not have asked before. A question that has been on my mind is, “Why do people continue to eat at chain restaurants when they mess up your order but if an independent business makes a mistake the customer commonly doesn’t return?”

New and independent businesses will make a mistake every now and again. But that does not mean they have poor customer service. They need time to grow and learn just like everyone else does. When I used to eat fast food I had more errors on my order than I have ever had at an independent establishment.

Happy camper

Yes, I am a very happy camper today. Yesterday I found out my boyfriend is coming home next week for 2 weeks. He is currently stationed in San Diego with the US Navy (Hooyah!). I really have missed my bestest friend in the world and it is a great feeling knowing I’ll see him again after all these months. I can’t wait to see him next Wednesday. I’ll have a bunch of baked goods and tea (his favorties) for when he’s home. I’m ready for some time with my sailor. :)

Where does your value come from

I think this is beautifully written, it’s compelling and very true. “There are no damsels in distress managing corporations, running countries, or managing households. The minute you start batting eyelashes, eyelashes is all you’ve got.” Worth a read!
